About Deer Creek

Deer Creek started in 1921 with a one-story red brick school in the area along the borders of Oklahoma and Logan counties. Today, it is one of Edmond and Northwest Oklahoma City’s most requested school districts due to the relatively small class sizes and the top school rankings earning Deer Creek statewide and national recognition.

Most of the homes in Deer Creek ISD were constructed since the 1990’s and many areas feature large lots or acreage homesites. The area is also known for the Deer Creek Rural Water District, which made way for the expansion of more residential construction. Deer Creek is not a city, it is an area in North Oklahoma City with an Edmond mailing zipcode – defined by the schools and local characteristics. There is, however, a sense of community for the families who are active in the schools, neighborhoods and local clubs such as the Deer Creek Optimist, featuring little league sports. Residents in the Deer Creek area value the close convenience of Edmond and Oklahoma City for shopping, churches, employment and recreation.

Deer Creek High School is ranked as one of the top public high schools in Oklahoma with state-of-the-art technology in the classroom and modern athletic facilities. The area has quickly embraced the footbal team as their home town team and every fall around town folks are wearing “Antler Football” shirts and apparel.
